At the rocks for kids event, students in grades 1-8 go to a series of stations where they collect rock specimens and learn about a variety of topics, including: Pennsylvania minerals and rocks, Fossils, Optical properties of Minerals, Cleavage of crystals, Fluorescence (glow in the dark), Sales table for children with affordable prices, and more! There will be demonstrations, games and interesting facts about rocks and minerals. Everyone goes at their own pace to each station in the order they choose.
