Non-native pests and pathogens threaten numerous tree species with extinction. One of the first tree species impacted by human translocation of these pests and pathogens was the American chestnut (Castanea dentata). The American Chestnut Foundation’s (TACF) work to restore this native tree species to our forests serves as a model for restoration of other threatened tree species. Lake Graboski will discuss TACF’s approach to restoration in this free educational event.
