Planet Fitness Hosting Blood Drive
In January, the American Red Cross announced the nation’s blood supply has dropped by about 40% in the last 20 years and the number of blood donors hit an all-time low in January 2024. According to the National Institute of Health, only 3% of eligible individuals in the U.S. give blood each year. Winter and Summer months often bring a critical shortage as donations typically decrease during these months.
National Fitness Partners, a leading Planet Fitness franchise division is hosting a blood drive at their club location in Mechanicsburg to meet the growing demand.
Participants will receive a complimentary ticket voucher to a Harrisburg Senators home game, a buy one large pizza get one free certificate from Papa John's, and a complimentary T-shirt.
PF Mechanicsburg has already held three previous blood drives in 2024, resulting in a collective 242 donors providing 200 pints of blood. This effort could potentially save up to 600 lives.
