Americana Concert Series -- David Childers & The Serpents
Tryon Fine Arts Center kicks off its spring Americana Concert Series Thursdays in May in the TFAC Amphitheater.
Singer-Songwriter David Childers opens the series on May 2. David is the proverbial study in contradictions. A resident of Mount Holly, NC, he was a former high school football player with the aw-shucks demeanor of a good ol’ Southern boy. But he’s also a well-read poet and painter who cites Chaucer and Kerouac as influences, who fell in love with folk as a teen, listens to jazz and opera, and fed his family by practicing law before turning in his license to concentrate on his creative passions.
Beverages and a food truck will be available, so you can come for dinner, enjoy the sunset and live music in one of the most loved and least known music venues in the Carolina Foothills! Concerts happen regardless of weather -- if we have inclement weather we move the show inside to the Tryon Fine Arts Center MainStage.
And ticket prices for the Americana series are very affordable. Series tickets are $45 (plus taxes+fees) and advanced individual tickets are $10 (plus taxes+fees) per show or $12 at the door.
