Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are pleased to announce the summer/fall exhibition in their 2026 partnership series, featuring the work of Shelley Cade. Running through October 6 at the Anchorage in the Village of West Greenville, this exhibition showcases Cade's recent oil paintings inspired by contemporary design, high fashion, and the vibrant nostalgia of eighties aesthetics. Cade characterizes her approach to painting as "chasing the blend," a technique rooted in intuitive color fusion and the application of purposeful marks. Shelley Cade’s exhibition brings art beyond the walls of Art & Light Gallery to offer an immersive experience that fuses culinary and visual arts at The Anchorage Restaurant.
Cade states, “The paintings included in The Anchorage exhibition were inspired by vintage fabrics and tupperware colors, the company of masculine and feminine and my own love of balancing structure with imperfection. I wanted to embrace all details of art; the texture of the canvas, the grain of the wood, the pencil marks from start to finish. Leaving a bit of the process in the layers of loose oil painting while also leaving behind a bit of intention through the blends.”
Join Shelley Cade for an intimate artist talk on Thursday, September 10 from 5:00-6:30 PM. Enjoy a signature cocktail by mixologist Mills Higgins along with Chef Zurkey curated small bites inspired by Shelley’s paintings. Tickets are $35 and include small plates and a signature cocktail. Sales are limited with only 25 spaces available.Visit The Anchorage to purchase tickets for the event. While Cade’s exhibition is on view at The Anchorage Restaurant, work included in the show is available for purchase through Art & Light Gallery.
