Boeing Boeing

The exploits of French bachelor Bernard and his three lovely flight attendants will keep audiences laughing as Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. presents “Boeing Boeing.” The comedy, directed by Wayne Strei, will be presented June 6-9 and 13-16 at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. Tickets are available at abramsspotlightproductions.com or by calling the box office, 920-826-5852. “If you like comedy and nonstop action you will love this show,” Strei said. “There are lots of doors and people coming and going at a furious pace as a carefully constructed bachelor’s life juggling three different airline hostesses falls apart.” “Boeing Boeing” is similar to Shakespeare’s comedies of merry misadventures and mistaken identities. The comedy is a French farce written and set in the early 1960s. The show centers on Parisian lothario Bernard, who has Italian, German, and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” He keeps “one up, one down, and one pending” without them knowing about each other by abiding by a strict schedule. Bernard’s life gets bumpy, though, when his friend Robert comes to stay, and complications such as weather and a new, speedier Boeing jet disrupt his careful planning. Soon, all three stewardesses are in the city simultaneously and catastrophe looms. “Boeing Boeing,” rated PG, is written by Marc Camoletti, translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans, and presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.
