Rhubarb Fest, June 18, 2022, 10 am - 4 pm


Rhubarb is the main attraction on the corner of First and Franklin Streets in Shawano on this day. You will taste it in the everything rhubarb bake sale items including pies, tortes, cakes, muffins, cookies, and breads. Sold by the piece to enjoy onsite or carry out, you will have many choices to sample. The beverage bar offers rhubarb lemonade and rhu-berry SunDrop slushies. The adult bar features homemade strawberry rhubarb sangria, Stubborn Brothers special brew rhubarb beer, and strawberry rhubarb wine from Hammen Family Winery. Brats, hamburgers and even ice cream will be served with a rhubarb sauce!

Enter the pie contest (find rules on our website), tour the museum buildings, learn about the life of a fur trader, how to carve wood and more. The Civil War Re-enactment Company E, 2nd Wisconsin will set up a Union camp on the grounds for a firsthand experience of this transforming time in our nation's history. A Confederate camp will be added this year so beware of skirmishes between the two camps.

New this year! A game area on the corner of Franklin and Second streets. A $5.00 punch card will give you access to a choice of 8 activities including sack races, water balloon toss, and face painting. Also check out the free children's craft area near the schoolhouse sponsored by the Shawano County Library.

Be sure to shop a unique selection of items from the Historical Society's gift shop including a Rhubarb Cookbook, rhubarb jam, books, photos, Shawano County Fair posters, and handmade cards using museum photos. Shop for a variety of perennials, including rhubarb plants, at the Shawano Woman's Club plant sale. You will also find vendors with everything from soaps, jewelry, wood crafts and original artwork for sale. Raffle tickets can be purchased for a chance to win beautiful raffle baskets. Special raffle item this year is a signed 2021 Green Bay Packers commemorative football. 

Live Music all day. 10 am- 1 pm: B.L.T. (Brad, Lona, and Tim) of the award-winning Nashville Recording artist The Renegade Band will perform country and southern rock. 
1:00-4:00: Burnt Toast and Jam will rock the tent with their bluegrass style.

Heritage Park is located at 517-524 N Franklin Street, Shawano. 
Admission to the grounds is FREE and free parking is available in the open lot behind Old Tabor Church (enter from Lafayette Street) and in the city parking lots on Washington Street and N 2nd Street.
