Hope College Piano Faculty to Perform Free Concert at First Reformed Church

HOLLAND, MI — The Free@3 Concert Series at First Reformed Church presents a recital featuring the piano faculty of Hope College on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public.
Performing are Hope College professors Allison Shinnick Keep, David Keep, and Lora Clark Kolean, each bringing distinctive artistry and scholarship to the stage. The program features works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Haydn, Copland, Florence Price, and Liszt.
Allison Shinnick Keep holds a DMA from the University of Michigan and has performed in venues including Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in New York City and Orchard Hall in Tokyo. A champion of American music, she has appeared as concerto soloist with orchestras in Ann Arbor and at Lawrence University. She is also Chair of the New Professionals Committee for the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy.
David Keep is a prize-winning pianist and music theorist who holds a Ph.D. from the Eastman School of Music. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, and was recently granted tenure and promotion at Hope College, effective July 2026.
Lora Clark Kolean, a Hope College faculty member since 2001, studied for three years at the Accademia Musicale Umbra in Perugia, Italy, and received her Master of Music from Western Michigan University. She has performed widely throughout the West Michigan community. She serves on the Executive Board of Holland Piano Forum and the board of the Michigan Music Teachers Association.
