Mariposa Butterfly Festival

The annual Mariposa Butterfly Festival will be held on May 6 -7, 2023 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are on Highway 49 just south of the Town of Mariposa. The festival features a Parade Downtown and Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show on Saturday, live music, Skydiver demonstrations, Jurassic Mariposa, an Artisan's Fair, food, and of course, butterflies and more. There is fun for the whole family, including Dad.

The young at heart will love the Jurassic Mariposa exhibit with giant dinosaurs, tarantulas, and spiders in Building B. Habitat Row features educational exhibits for young and old. Learn how to plant a garden that attracts and benefits butterflies. Learn about the environment and how we can make our world a better and safer place to live. 

Over 4,000 butterflies will be distributed to the guests on orange slices over the two-day event. It is pretty neat.

Dad will love Saturday's Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle show. If he wishes to enter one of his own vehicles, applications are online at MariposaButterflyFestival.net. Who knows, Dad may come home with a trophy. Application fees include entrance for two at the festival.

The skydiver demonstrations are always a hit at the Mariposa Butterfly Festival along with the live music throughout the festival area. An aerialist demonstration will take place Sunday on the front lawn. An Artisan Fair featuring over 90 artisans is always a place to find treasures to take home. Adult refreshments are available at the beer and wine gardens sponsored by Mariposa's local 1850 Restaurant and Brewery. 

So Much to do and see at the Mariposa Butterfly Festival. $5 entrance fee. Children under 12 with an adult are always Free. To be a participant in the car show, $25 which includes entrance for two.
