Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth presents Savage Famiily Strings on Tuesday March 12 at 6:30 p.m.


Join CMSFW2 in this family affair! A free concert to enjoy chamber music by the sibling group Savage Family Strings. These award-winning classical string musicians will charm you with their selections in the intimate setting of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Fort Worth. CMSFW Artistic Director and violinist Gary Levinson and pianist Dr. Baya Kakouberi join the Savage family during the program to perform Franz Schubert’s “Trout Quintet.” This is a free concert that requires a reservation due to limited seating. Adam Savage, 19, has played the viola for 11 years. A third-year student at Julliard, he was a finalist in the school’s viola concerto competition. In 2021, Adam was named U.S. Presidential Scholar of the Arts. He has performed with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States and other orchestras and chamber ensembles. Kimberly Savage, 15 year-old cellist, has also played for 11 years. She placed first in the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony Concerto competition in 2024. Kimberly’s been asked to join the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony’s Academy Orchestra. Megan Savage, a cellist, has played all over the world with many orchestras and chamber ensembles. She performs with the Atlantic Classical Orchestra and Palm Beach Symphony. Megan’s also a substitute cellist for Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Charleston Symphony and Palm Beach Opera. Shane Savage is a double bassist, playing the instrument since he was 10. He began his musical instruction on the violin and cello at five years old. He was the first double bassist to win first prize in the 2022 John Oliveira String Competition. Shane has performed with many Florida orchestras, including Orlando Philharmonic, Miami City Ballet and Florida Grand Opera. Gary Levinson is the senior principal associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He graduated from Julliard with a Master’s of Music degree and made his solo debut in 1991 with the New York Philharmonic. In addition to playing with the Dallas Symphony, Gary performs with the chamber ensemble and at music festival and has many recordings to his name. Baya was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and studied at the Moscow Conservatory, receiving her Master’s and Doctorate. Playing since she was 11, Dr. Kakouberi has performed around the world as a soloist and chamber artist. She is the artistic director of the Blue Candlelight Music Series in Dallas. She and her team bring world-class international chamber musicians to play for audiences in intimate, local settings. The program includes Passacaglia (Handel-Halverson) and Piano Quintet in A Major, also known as “Trout” (Schuber). Remember to reserve your seat. This is an intimate venue and space is limited. Parking 777 Main Parking Garage (Bass Hall Parking), 601 Commerce St. Entrance is between 5th and 6th Streets. Parking in free after 6 p.m.
