ANNUAL TEXAS TREE CLIMBING CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO WAXAHACHIE

Waxahachie – Texas Chapter ISA (ISAT), a chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture is hosting the Annual Texas Tree Climbing Championship (TTCC), supported by multiple corporate sponsors and exhibitors, in Waxahachie, Texas on Friday and Saturday, May 17th and 18th. Professional tree climbers (men and women) from all over Texas will compete to be the top male/female Climber representing Texas at the 2024 International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) in the fall. This event provides a unique opportunity to see professional tree climbers in action testing their speed, endurance, and safety in a simulated work situation while in a tree.
Judges come from all over the state and across the nation to judge each contestant. The top winners in the five events will go on to compete on Saturday, May 18th in the Masters’ Challenge. - The overall winner of the weekend’s events will be awarded the top male/female climber and will represent ISAT at the 2024 ITCC in Georgia.
The Texas Tree Climbing Championship started as “The Arborist’s Jamboree” in 1983. While exciting to watch, professional Tree Climbers are athletes who prepare for and work daily in trees. They use a specialized climbing gear and must meet strict safety requirements and regulations. Many hold the international recognition of Certified Arborist or Certified Tree Climber, indicating their extensive tree, climbing, and safety knowledge. Prize packages include equipment and gear.
The TTCC event is FREE to watch and OPEN to the General Public! The competition begins on Friday, May 17th with preliminary events running 8:00am-5:00pm and continues Saturday, May 18th with the Masters’ Challenge from 9:00am-2:00pm. Enjoy the food trucks or bring your picnic basket while you watch and cheer on the Competitors. TTCC is a great family activity. Texas Chapter ISA is a Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Texas Chapter ISA is the professional organization representing over 1300 professional arborists, urban foresters, tree workers/climbers, and others in Texas arboriculture. Texas Chapter ISA members have been professionally organized since 1978.
