What is Pi Day?
Celebrated the world over, the irrational number 3.14159265359...etc., better known as its mathematical symbol p, is defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter and is used by mathematicians and engineers for everything from simple building and construction plans, to space flight, quantum physics, and deep space astronomy.
