The purpose of this event is to create an avenue to showcase minority owned businesses in the Philadelphia area. According to the census bureau, minority owned businesses comprised 17.5 percent of the total.Even though this percentage is quite small, it stands to reason that there are quite a number of minority owned business in the Greater Philadelphia area. However, people are still unaware of these business.
This business fair is an opportunity for people to become familiar with these businesses, as well as resources available to any minority wishing to start a business in Philadelphia.
