Glencairn Museum's Halloween Scavenger Hunt is a spirited way for kids of all ages and their families to do something different on the afternoon of All Hallows Eve. Come for family fun time to kick-off--or replace--your evening’s house-to-house visiting. Costumes encouraged. No registration necessary for this admission-free event (donations welcome).
Inspired by the Harry Potter stories by J.K. Rowling, the Glencairn Wizard offers clues to prompt explorations into the nooks and crannies of the 1939 castle built for the Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn family. Visitors will be looking for the unusual and mysterious as well as the numinous and unbelievable within the galleries, collections and preserved family rooms.
And for a special treat—no matter your age—glassblowers Jason Klein and Leslie Pierce of Historical Glassworks will be demonstrating this magical art, creating and selling one-of-a-kind wonders such as wands, talismans, potion bottles and more. The artisans’ amazing skills and authentic demonstrations draw hundreds to Glencairn’s festivals and educational workshops every year.
