Join us as we celebrate the oldest drinking event in the country, America's First Happy Hour. For the last 243 years the members of the Secret Society of Social Drinkers meet in front of Independence Hall dress in black hooded cloaks (yes like something out of a Harry Potter movie) to celebrate America's First Happy Hour.
We invite all to join us for this historic celebration. Even if you are not a member of the 3SD or prefer not to wear a cloak, we invite everyone to be a spectator for this annual historic event. Help us make this happy hour a signature Philly event just like Diner en Blanc or Hair of the Dog.
After a short ceremonial speech from Ben Franklin in front of Independence Hall, the members are led to the City Tavern to celebrate 'America's First Happy Hour' in the outdoor courtyard.
Tickets are $15 (+3 processing fee) and will get you 2 drinks at the City Tavern. Tickets with the 3SD membership are $40. Includes 2 drinks at the City Tavern plus 3SD pin and membership card.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Museum of the American Revolution.
