Philly Asian Histories August 9th 7-10pm August 10th 2-5pm, 7-10pm $10-30 sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds Philly Asian Performing Artists and Asian Arts Initiative bring together an amazing ensemble of performers to present the Living Museum of Philly’s Asian Histories. Using real stories collected from API community members, the cast transforms word into movement and sound in this dynamic and interactive performance series. A team of eight performers will create shorts pieces each highlighting a different moment in Philly Asian History. They will transform Asian Arts Initiative into a living museum with performance installations ranging from music, visual arts and poetry to movement, dance and more. This performance series will culminate in a final performance at the free Neighborhood Showcase on Saturday, August 17, 5-8pm.
Asian Arts Initiative is designed as a mobility accessible facility, with access to all public floors and spaces, and seating accommodations for programmed events. Both non-gendered and individually isolating restrooms are available on each floor, all equipped with changing stations. If contacted in advance, we will make every attempt to fulfill requests for reasonable accommodations such as vision/hearing auxiliary aids and cognitive disability guides. Please note: Due to most events being attended by the general public, we cannot guarantee accommodations for those with fragrance sensitivities.
