Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast Monday, January 20, 2020 7:30 am – Anniversary Reception 8:30 am – 50th Anniversary Breakfast and Program

Join us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast (MLK Breakfast). This year’s theme is THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES: MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER. The MLK Breakfast will kick-off the celebration with the Anniversary Reception with our Honorees, Sponsors and VIP guests. MLK 50th Anniversary Program will feature a Conversation with Governor Charlie D. Baker, Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Senator Edward Markey, moderated by Barry Gaither. Highlighting the program will be a special sermon keynote address by The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry. Bishop Curry is the Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church who delivered a rousing sermon at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. Guests will also enjoy musical performances by a gospel choir and an awards presentation with our MC, Shayna Seymour, co-anchor of WCVB’s award-winning, nightly news magazine, Chronicle.
Our 2020 Drum Major Awardees are Marvin Gilmore and Charlotte Golar Richie. This year we also honor as Anniversary Awardees four individuals or companies who over the years have strongly committed to improving race relations, diversity and inclusion, and social justice. Anniversary Awardees are Quincy Miller (Eastern Bank), Robert Lewis, Jr. (The Base), Lillie Searcy (Hattie Cooper Community Center).
