OVERVIEW Federal regulations have the force of Federal law and influence how we live on a day to day basis. In health care, Federal regulations control the privacy and security of personal health information, what electronic information has to be used for administrative transactions, how Medicare and Medicaid work, and may other facets. This is a mysterious and often hidden process to many, but it is in reality a very open process in which citizens may participate.
