FREE Guided Tour of Indy 500 Exhibition
On Friday August 7 from 11 am to 1 pm, the Evansville Museum will be hosting its monthly Club. This FREE event, sponsored by Trilogy Health Services, Solarbron, and Park Avenue Securities & The Owen Team, is open to all adults and takes place from 11 am to 1 pm on the first Friday of (almost) every month.
This month's presentation will be a guided tour of the Museum's newest exhibition on the Indianapolis 500, "500 Miles To Go". This tour will be led by Chief Curator & Curator of History Tom Lonnberg.
The tour is free to attend. Museum doors open at 11 am, and the tour will begin at 11:15 am.

Step into the thrilling history of the Indianapolis 500 with 500 Miles to Go: Recalling Select Milestones & Moments of the Indianapolis 500, a dynamic exhibition exploring the milestones, moments, and legends that have defined one of America’s most iconic sporting events. Held at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway—a track dating back to 1909, with the first race run in 1911—the Indianapolis 500 has captivated generations of fans and drivers alike.
Through a compelling selection of artifacts, stories, and historical highlights, this exhibition brings to life the people and events that shaped the race’s enduring legacy. From groundbreaking achievements to unforgettable moments on the track, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the Indianapolis 500’s place in American culture.
500 Miles to Go is included with general Museum admission and will be on display from May 10 to August 23, 2026.

The Club is where you can meet new people, take a break, and learn new things. Each Club features a special presentation or tour. Board games & snacks are provided. The Club includes the Kids' Zone, a place where your kids and grandkids can play while you enjoy The Club activities. Your kids will always be safely within your eyesight.
There is no fee to attend the club on First Fridays, but donations are gratefully accepted. RSVPs are not required, but larger groups are encouraged to call ahead.
