Frank A. Hamilton was the minister of Trinity United Methodist Church from 1943 - 1953. His service spanned WWII and the Cold War. His grandson, David Hamilton, will return to Trinity to offer a historic glimpse into the ministry of his grandfather.
Both World War II and the Cold War posed challenges for Christians in confronting threats to American democracy and society while staying true to their faith. Rev. Hamilton wrestled with those challenges throughout his ministry, and he tried to help his congregation do the same.
David Hamilton is a senior United States circuit judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His remarks are titled "Trinity and Faith During Wartime, Hot and Cold: Reflections on the Ministry of Frank A. Hamilton, 1943-53," and they will draw from the sermons, outlines, and notes of his grandfather.
