Have you been scouring the thrift stores looking for that perfect vintage accessory? Why not be really adventurous and try on a vintage dance instead? Join GenPhilly for our 1st ever intergenerational Vintage Dance Party! Dance instructor Bob Skiba will be teaching us the steps to popular swing dances, including "The Big Apple," an improvisational jazz dance created by African American youth in the 1930's at the Big Apple Night Club in South Carolina. Stick around after the dance lesson for more music, mingling and light refreshments, or visit our resource tables to find opportunities for dance nuts of all ages. This is a FREE event, so there's no reason not to come and try your hand at the Rusty Dusty or the Shorty George. GenPhilly is a network of emerging leaders dedicated to supporting the next generation of professionals in aging, and inspiring our peers to promote an Age-friendly Philadelphia. Through creative programming and professional development opportunities, we are working to change stereotypes and establish Philadelphia as a lifelong community for all of us.
