A Michigan native, now Brooklyn NY based, Alaina Bamfield is quickly rising as a big voice in the New York comedy scene with her fierce and unafraid brand of humor. Her fascinating blend of storytelling and sharp observations has shared the stage with Dave Attell, Sam Tallent, Jordan Jensen and Maddy Smith and blazed a path through the Motor City Comedy Festival, Savage Henry Comedy Festival, Stoop Fest Comedy Festival and Tree Town Comedy Festival. Audiences have loved her at The Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, Laughing Tap in Milwaukee, Planet Ant in Detroit, Zanies in Chicago, Independent Comedy Club in Detroit, and the Bushwick Comedy Club and The Stand In in New York, as well as many other clubs across the country. Joining Alaina will be 5 of the top comics on the Michigan scene, Nicole Melnick, Houmbo, Yogi, Jeffrey Scott, and MC Lisa Green. Our dynamic MC Lisa Green is a queer stand-up comedian from Ypsilanti, Michigan. Unique and offbeat, they combine the academia, mental illness, goth subculture, and queer joy of an internet-raised Millennial. Lisa's observational comedy shines with a touch of blue humor, occasional dark jokes, and clever wordplay. They have appeared throughout the Michigan comedy scene, including Jester's Court Comedy Festival, Fem Feedback, and Blind Pig Comedy Show, as well as creating their hometown comedy brand of Depot Town Comedy, hosting weekly open mics and booking shows in the Ypsilanti area. When Lisa isn't performing onstage, they're working hard putting their hard-earned degrees to use. “Born from the primordial ooze of ancient earth,” Nicole Melnyk is and will always be farm-raised outside of Grand Rapids but “Comedy Born” in Lansing. Nicole has exploded on the Michigan comedy scene as a dedicated Road Dog, quickly conquering (destroying?) every city's stand up scene (including 3 years as Lansing's Best Comic). Comedy clubs didn't stand a chance! Houmbo the Comedian is a longtime cruise ship favorite and has mesmerized audiences throughout the SE Metro area with her very hip, fast paced tour de force comedy. Jeffrey Scott says he performed throughout grade school, constantly getting himself in trouble with teachers by making offensive and inappropriate remarks in class. As an adult, he's “managed to lose many friends and alienate co-workers with smart-ass wisecracks and funny put-downs. I have now found an appropriate venue to make all the inappropriate comments that have gotten me into trouble in the past. I've performed everywhere from Bay City to Grand Rapids, and Fort Wayne to Mount Pleasant. Gary Gulman shook my hand while walking off stage once. I made eye contact with Doug Stanhope while he was appearing at The Magic Bag in Royal Oak. I once had lawn seats to see Don Rickles and Joan Rivers at Pine Knob.” Yogi, although called an alien by the government, is a human—just like you and me. Originally from the vibrant land of India, he stumbled into comedy as part of a therapy assignment, only to discover a true passion for making people laugh. He regularly performs across Michigan and Ohio, delivering sharp observational humor that highlights cultural differences and everyday experiences. This is a general seating event in a restaurant style setting with tables and chairs. Seating choice is first come, first serve.
