National Cleaning Week – Donate Items and Shop for Spring at Volunteers of America Michigan Thrift

Each year, recognized by the American Cleaning Institute, the fourth Sunday of March kicks off National Cleaning Week, a week to start spring cleaning in preparation for the summer season ahead. Volunteers of America Michigan Thrift Stores are happy to take your donations and provides a clean, organized environment for you to shop for new-to-you items needed for summer, at a fraction of retail price. The Westland store is specifically looking for donations of gently used household goods including furniture, cookware, glasses, wall art, frames, and candles, so take this opportunity to clear space in your home and give new life to your items. And, Tuesday March 26th, the entire store is 50% off for their monthly Half Off Tuesday event. A donation guide and other information about thrift can be found at voami.org/thrift. All proceeds from Volunteers of America Michigan thrift stores directly support the critical social services available to veterans, seniors and families across Michigan. Thrift store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mon-Sat and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sun.
