Small Business Social Hour co-hosted by NEI & City Institute
The Small Business Social Hour is a free monthly networking series that connects Southeast Michigan small business owners, founders, and ecosystem supporters, co hosted by the New Economy Initiative and City Institute at rotating neighborhood businesses across the region. The next Small Business Social Hour is on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4–7 p.m. at Vesey Lane Goods (9920 Kercheval Ave, Detroit), featuring businesses from The Villages.
The Small Business Social Hour:
• Brings small business owners, entrepreneurs, and support organizations together to “mix, mingle and move their businesses forward.”
• Highlights a different corridor or neighborhood business each month (e.g., Detroit Pizza Bar, Next Chapter Books, Jo’s Gallery Café, Vesey Lane Goods).
• Includes light programming (typically 5 p.m.–6 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. –6:30 p.m.) plus open networking, with food and refreshments from local businesses.
• Jefferson East, Inc. is the collaborating organization for the event.
• The program portion allows people to introduce themselves and their business, along with hearing from the vendors and business support organizations that are present.
