Nicely Theatre Group Presents "The Drowsy Chaperone"
The Drowsy Chaperone is a light, breezy show that pokes fun at old-time musicals. As the show begins, a man sitting in his apartment greets the audience and puts on his favorite record--the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical called "The Drowsy Chaperone." Soon, the recording comes to life in his living room, and the zany story of two lovers on the eve of their wedding unfolds as the man provides a running commentary from his apartment.
The Drowsy Chaperone debuted on Broadway in 2006 (with Sutton Foster in the lead role) and won five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score.
There are 5 performances—Saturday, February 25 at 7:30, Sunday, February 26 at 2:00, Friday, March 3 at 7:30, Saturday, March 4 at 7:30, and Sunday, March 5 at 2:00.
The shows take place at the Berman Center at Maple and Drake in West Bloomfield. There is reserved seating, not general admission. All seats are good!
