Nicely Theatre Group Presents "A Chorus Line"


Nicely Theatre Group ("Nicely") is pleased to present its 2023 production of the Tony Award-winning musical A CHORUS LINE at The Berman Center for Performing Arts in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Nicely Creative Director Mitch Master directs with choreography by Mark McCleese and music and vocal direction by Dan Greig. Show dates and times are as follows: Saturday, October 21 at 7:30pm; Sunday, October 22 at 2:00pm; Friday, October 27 at 7:30pm; Saturday, October 28 at 7:30pm; and Sunday, October 29 at 2:00pm. The ensemble and understudies include Randi Hamilton as Vicki (u/s Cassie), Aubrey McCurdy as Tricia (u/s Judy, u/s Val), Juju Palmer as Lois (u/s Kristine), Alexander Cousins as Frank (u/s Don, u/s Al), Carl Ghafari as Butch (u/s Paul), Dez Walker as Roy (u/s Richie), Jimmy Lancaster as Tom (u/s Mark, u/s Bobby), Hailey Eriksen (u/s Maggie & Bebe), Olivia Wash (u/s Connie), Dale Extrell (u/s Sheila), Isabelle Grima (u/s Diana), Alonzo Luzod (u/s Zach), Tatianna Hull (u/s Larry). SYNOPSIS: A Chorus Line is set on the bare stage of a Broadway theater and centered on 17 dancers auditioning for a spot in the chorus line of a Broadway show. The dancers describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers. It features many hit songs, including "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It.” A CHORUS LINE debuted on Broadway in 1975 and won 9 Tony Awards, including the award for Best New Musical. The original Broadway production ran for 6,137 performances, becoming the longest-running show in Broadway history until it was surpassed in 1997.
