It Can Happen Here. Trump's Attack on Immigrants and the Threat of Dictatorship
The first month of Trump’s term confirms he is attempting to establish a
dictatorship. He has signed a series of executive orders abolishing birthright
citizenship, deploying the military to US soil, requiring universities “monitor and
report” the speech of non-citizen students to deport them for opposing the
government and the genocide in Gaza, and is laying the groundwork for mass
deportations on an unprecedented scale.
Trump did not fall out of the sky, he is the vile expression of a government being
remade in the interests of the financial oligarchy. The ruling class aims to destroy
social programs, eliminate all constraints on corporate profit-making, and is
preparing to suppress opposition.
Trump’s policies are not popular and he is aided by a Democratic Party that refuses
to oppose the march to dictatorship. Join the International Youth and Students for
