OU Creative Writing Faculty/Alum Reading with Katie Hartsock and Andrew Collard Free and open to the public Light refreshments served, and books available for sale Katie Hartsock’s second poetry collection, Wolf Trees (2023), was listed as one of Kirkus Review’s best poetry books of 2023, and contains meditations on the Midwest, mythology, and motherhood. Her work appears in journals such as The Threepenny Review, Tupelo Quarterly, Ecotone, Beloit Poetry Journal, Plume, and RHINO. She is an associate professor of English at Oakland University. Andrew Collard received a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University, and currently teaches as a Visiting Professor at Grand Valley State University. His debut poetry collection, Sprawl (2023), won the Ohio University Press Hollis Summers Poetry Prize, and reconstructs "the constantly shifting landscape of metropolitan Detroit . . . . Within the larger geographical space of the metropolis are the in-between places of personal significance: the gas stations, burger joints, malls, and parking lots where many of the defining moments of ordinary lives occur." Collard has served as a poetry editor for Witness and Third Coast Magazine, and as an associate editor for New Issues Press.
