Mothering Justice Presents: State of the Mama Detroit
State of the Mama is our annual event that uplifts the voices of mamas of color and mobilizes our community to take action on the policies that impact our families the most. Held alongside major addresses like the State of the State and State of the Union, this gathering is a space to reflect on key legislative developments, celebrate our wins, and prepare for the work ahead.
This year’s theme, Rooted in Our Resistance, centers around protecting Earned Paid Sick Time (EPST) and fair wages, ensuring that the policies meant to support working families are implemented and upheld. Attendees will gain tools to identify and contact their representatives, advocate effectively, and take action to protect our rights.​
Join us for an evening of community, conversation, and resistance as we continue the fight for a just and equitable future for all mamas. Together, we hold elected officials accountable and demand that our voices shape the policies that affect our lives.
