All Things Detroit Day is a day-long event to feature 250 local artists and makers who sell handcrafted art, home and garden goods and food. “The customers love the positive energy here, purchasing new products and just spending a day in Detroit,” said Founder Jennyfer Crawford-Williams. It's all about supporting the community. Detroit is full of talent and at All Things Detroit, we highlight the best in the city.”
Crawford-Williams knows the reason crowds always come out for All Things Detroit is simple – the businesses.
“The customers love the positive energy here, purchasing new products and just spending a day in Detroit,” she said. It's all about supporting the community. Detroit is full of talent and at All Things Detroit, we highlight the best in the city.”
A few of the vendors you’ll see at All Things Detroit Day are:
• Stephens Southern Delights – Owner Bupe Mulenga loves ice cream and it shows. She’s created a menu of decadent, gourmet flavors fashioned after Grandma’s traditional Southern desserts. And these desserts take into account dietary needs by using only clean, premium ingredients. Flavors include everything from Auntie Margueritte’s Peach Cobbler Ice Cream and Auntie Dorothy’s Banana Pudding Ice Cream to Granddad’s Vanilla Ice Cream. It’s possible to choose gluten free or soy free varieties, too. “We started our journey here in Detroit in December 2019 and we have been growing non-stop ever since,” Mulenga said.
• Mama’s Be Like – Owner Tramaine Seay flips the script on what it means to be a mom in 2023. Mamas Be Like is a Farmington Hills-based urban apparel brand that “liberates mamas while redefining the term through edgy, raw and real graphic tee shirt designs and accessories,” she said. “Our mission is to create a community of mamas who are unapologetic in their presence, while making being a mom en vogue!” Don’t miss the Whatup Doe? D Girl Homage tee – featuring those Detroit women who make great things happen.
• B. Jacklean – Owner Bridgett Rice can’t recall a time she wasn’t wearing heels and carrying a purse. She translated that knack for fashion into B. Jacklean, a sustainable fashion brand formerly called B’Juelz. Since 2012, Rice has been handcrafting fashionable accessories from upcycled leather, denim and other luxury materials. All items are designed and handcrafted in the city that inspired them, Detroit. Keep an eye out at All Things Detroit for her Blu Jean Betty Collection of peplum belts, denim handbags, leather crossbody handbags and acid washed sweatshirts.
• Tyler’s Totes – Owner Simone Craig started the business in Detroit in 2021 out of necessity. “Tyler’s Totes was created because my first Yorkie (Tyler) would get so exhausted during walks, that halfway through I would have to carry him home. I wanted something lightweight and comfortable that I could carry him in, but was not able to find such a product on the market. Tyler’s Totes was born.”
She knows how hard it is to leave the house without your favorite four-legged friend. And that’s why Tyler’s Totes specializes in handmade pet tote bag carriers.
“Our bags offer custom patchwork, are lightweight, stylish, reversible and can be worn as crossbody or shoulder bag,” said Craig. Keep an eye out for the Detroit Tote, the most popular style they make. It now comes in more color combinations.
All Things Detroit Day features 250 vendors as well as a wide array of food trucks.
