Cabaret 313 REEVE CARNEY: A TRIBUTE TO QUEEN

Grammy winning Singer/Songwriter and actor Reeve Carney is perhaps best known for originated the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the record-breaking Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, a role for which he was hand picked by visionary director Julie Taymor. Prior to landing on Broadway, he spent most of his adolescence and young adulthood playing guitar and singing in Jazz Bands as well as with various Blues Acts performing with the likes of Jonny Lang, Coco Montoya and Billy Preston. When Broadway came calling, Reeve jumped at the opportunity to perform a score by U2’s Bono and The Edge. After a nearly 3 year run on Broadway, Carney finally hung up the suit and headed to Dublin for Showtime’s buzzed-about John Logan/Sam Mendes series, “Penny Dreadful,” in which he played reckless hedonist Dorian Gray. Currently performing Eight shows a week as Orpheus in the Tony Winning Hit Broadway Musical Hadestown, Reeve is thrilled to be here in Detroit to perform a special set of music for you all at Cabaret 313. Last seen on the big screen as Tom Ford in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci alongside Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, and Al Pacino, his film and Television Credits also include Gemini, Snow Falling On Cedars (Young Artist Award), Julie Taymor’s The Tempest, and FOX’s “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Time Warp Again” as Riff Raff. In an upcoming Jeff Buckley biopic, Carney will play the late singer, marrying his love of music and acting. Recordings include his debut solo album, Youth is Wasted (five Independent Music Awards including Best Album) and Mr. Green Vol. 1, with the band, Carney. Many of the sounds you will hear tonight are the product of Reeve’s newest venture, Quarantine Effects USA, in which he designs and builds electronic effects pedals for musicians.
