Preserving Your Family History - Quad anniversary lecture series
That which is preserved is remembered. Too often, important pieces of personal and family history are disorganized and tucked away in basements or attics—out of sight and at risk from time, neglect, or even a sudden flood. What happens to your family’s story if those materials are lost?
In this session, the Society’s expert collections staff will share practical tips and professional techniques to help you build and care for your own family archive at home. Attendees will learn how to record meaningful oral histories, organize and digitize photographs and documents, and properly store treasured objects to ensure their longevity. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to improve your current system, this program will help you safeguard your history for the next generation.
