The Mushroom Hunt (with Cranbrook Institute of Science)
The event begins with a learning session on mushroom species and responsible foraging, followed by guided or self-led foraging on Cranbrook’s campus. Afterward, we'll reconvene at the Institute to examine our finds, participate in art activities, and view a pop-up exhibition. The event is free with museum admission.
MMHC offers opportunities for all levels of mushroom enthusiasts to connect with nature and learn through hunts and educational events. Children accompanied by parents are welcome.
The program is complemented by a special lecture-performance the night before, on October 4, 6:30pm, titled Music, Mushroom, Mechanisms: The John Cage Listens to John Cage 50th Anniversary.
