Occupy the Summer Arts and Culture Night
Bring the whole family to Clark Park for a free evening of creativity, culture, and summer fun! Occupy the Summer: Arts & Culture Night will fill the park with interactive art installations, hands-on activities, live demonstrations, performances, food trucks, giveaways, community resources, and plenty of opportunities for children and families to create, explore, and play.
Meet artists and representatives from some of Detroit’s leading arts, cultural, and educational organizations, including the Black Bottom Archives, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, College for Creative Studies, Cranbrook Institute of Science, Detroit Creativity Project, Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Historical Society, Detroit Public Theatre, Future Makers International, Habari Gani Creative Arts Program, Inc., Hellenic Museum of Michigan, Michigan Science Center, Motor City Comedy Festival, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Pewabic Pottery, Que Blackout Youth Theater, Sidewalk Detroit, The Scarab Club, University of Michigan Detroit Center, WISE, Y Arts, Young People Global Edge, and Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design which will offer a special shoe-art activation.
Arts & Culture Night is part of Occupy the Summer, Mayor Mary Sheffield’s signature summer event series bringing free activities, entertainment, recreation, and resources to neighborhoods throughout Detroit. This family-friendly celebration is presented by the City of Detroit in partnership with the Detroit Cultural Center Association and Detroit artist, Bree’Ann White.
Admission and activities are free.
