An American Summer Sendoff: Freedom 250 Watch Party and Cornhole Classic Tournament
Honor our nation’s 250th anniversary and savor the final days of summer in Downtown Detroit with An American Summer Sendoff — a curated lineup of special events and experiences celebrating community, creativity, family, entertainment and the spirit of Detroit.

The celebration begins Sunday, Aug. 23, with a Freedom 250 Watch Party and Cornhole Classic Tournament.
🏁 Race fans, this one’s for you! Catch the INDYCAR Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington DC on the big screen at Campus Martius Park. Bring your crew, grab a spot, and cheer on the drivers as they battle it out on the track. Produced in partnership with the Detroit Grand Prix team, the event will also feature a Detroit Grand Prix aero screen show car, giving visitors an up-close look at an INDYCAR-style race car.
🌽 Cornhole fans, we’ve got you covered, too! Join the Detroit Cornhole Classic, hosted in partnership with Come Play Detroit and Detroit Youth Cornhole. The tournament features both competitive and social divisions, welcoming everyone from casual players to seasoned competitors.

Come for the race, come for the cornhole or make a day of both! There’s plenty of action happening at Campus Martius Park.
