Detroit’s own Sky Covington returns to the stage with renewed fire and extraordinary intention in Love Letters to Yah: A Return to the Center, now back by popular demand after moving audiences with its intimacy, musical brilliance, and spiritual depth.
Taking place Monday, March 2, 2026, inside the legendary Aretha’s Jazz Café, this one-woman concert experience places Covington’s unmistakable voice, emotional transparency, and masterful storytelling at the forefront — reminding audiences why she remains one of Detroit’s most treasured jazz artists.
An 11-time Detroit Music Award–winning vocalist, producer, poet, and founder of The Preservation of Jazz, Covington has built a career preserving legacy while continuing to evolve as an artist. With Love Letters to Yah, she steps beyond tribute and into testimony — offering a performance grounded in reflection, alignment, and artistic truth
Backed by her dynamic ensemble Club Crescendo, featuring:

Terrence Neal — Drums
Covington will perform a plethora of jazz masterpieces, beloved standards, selections associated with luminaries such as Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone, and music from her original repertoire. Each piece unfolds like a musical letter — personal, revealing, and deeply human.
