The Shark is Broken

The Tipping Point season launches on September 17th with the Michigan premiere production of Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon’s The Shark is Broken. It’s 1974 and filming is delayed on the set of Jaws. Days turn into weeks and the three starring actors are cooped up on the Orca, while the fourth character, “Bruce,” the mechanical shark, is broken. Amidst foul weather and sometimes fouler tempers, the actors pass the time drinking, gambling and sharing stories as fragile egos come charging, then devoured and spit out creating a dynamic, comic chaos. A true celebration of the 50th anniversary of Jaws, Hollywood’s first summer blockbuster. “A wild ride worth taking,” states Entertainment Weekly. Single tickets for each production in this season will be available for purchase by visiting www.tippingpointtheatre.com, or by calling the Ticket Office at 248.347.0003, beginning at 12 a.m. on August 15, 2025. Discounts for seniors (62 and over), military and students are also available at the Box Office window located inside Tipping Point Theatre at 361 East Cady Street, Northville, MI 48167. Discounts for groups of 10+ are available for purchase by calling the Box Office at 248.347.0003 or at the Ticket Office window.
