The Way Up

West Des Moines, IA – The Way Up Planning Council will present The Way Up 2025: Onward and Upward: Supporting Leaders on The Way Up, taking place at The Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center, West Des Moines, Iowa on November 6-7, 2025, and featuring keynote speakers Dr. Rachelle Keck, President of Grand View University; Dr. Kimberly Beatty, Chancellor of Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City; and, Dr. Lindsay Tierney, Dean of Students at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Dentistry. For more than thirty-five years, The Way Up Conference has provided a space for higher education professionals in Iowa to strengthen their leadership and administrative skills. Created to support women in higher education, the conference has evolved to welcome and support all individuals who are committed to advancing leadership, equity, and excellence across institutions. The conference continues to provide meaningful value for presenters and participants, along with opportunities for networking and collaboration. The Fall 2025 Conference will celebrate thirty-eight years of growth, development, and connection. The Way Up Conference explores strategies institutions can use to identify, support, and promote diverse leaders; reviews state and national issues in higher education; fosters growth, development, and self-confidence among participants; and equips attendees with knowledge and skills to excel as leaders in higher education.
