Join the Des Moines Izaak Walton League Tuesday, April 14, 6:45 pm, to learn about the comeback of Sandhill Cranes in Iowa and their amazing migration to the Platte River, with Ray Harden! 4343 George Flagg Pkwy (Flagg & Park), Des Moines 50321. Mike Delaney will also host a small group chat on crane migration in the Crum Center at 5. Sandhill Cranes are protected under federal and state laws in the United States and Canada, reflecting their significance as a vital part of wetland ecosystems and a species of conservation concern. They migrate long distances between their breeding and wintering grounds, often forming large flocks numbering in the thousands. Ray Harden is a Naturalist and retired Environmental Science Educator. Admission to Ray's talk at 6:45 is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, with doors opening at 5, and a Brisket Dinner at 6 available for purchase.
