Join the Iowa DNR's Micheal Anderson, Senior Water Supply and Allocation Engineer, to find out about Water Availability here in Iowa, Tuesday, August 20, 6:45 pm at The Des Moines Izaak Walton League, 4343 George Flagg Pkwy (Intersection of George Flagg and Park). Find out the big picture on where your water comes from! Michael's job as an engineer involves detailed hydrogeologic review [hydrology is the area of geology that deals with the distribution and movement of groundwater in the soil and rocks of the Earth's crust (commonly in aquifers)], analyzing allocation requests, categorizing water rights, doing detailed hydrogeologic review, and facilitating Iowa water law planning. In other words, he doesn't just know the map, he knows the territory! Admission to the talk at 6:45 pm is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! A Chicken Alfredo Dinner will be available for purchase, serving at 6 pm.
