Conversation with Henry Payer (2026 Iowa Artist) and Associate Curator Elizabeth Gollnick
Join Des Moines Art Center Associate Curator Beth Gollnick and our 2026 Iowa Artist Henry Payer for an insightful conversation that traverses Payer’s multi-media practice, exploring the importance of Ho-Chunk traditions and Western popular culture in his work, as well as the themes compelling his practice, including history, relocation, and resilience. Payer’s exhibition, “Aagakinak Haciwi: We Live Opposite Each Other” is on view at the Art Center through June 17.
