Reserve your free tickets(s) now to watch the Vivo Chamber Players accompany the silent film, Sherlock, Jr., starring Buster Keaton, with a musical score arranged/composed by Dr. John Benoit, Professor of Music at Simpson College. Enjoy the antics on the screen and on the stage as the orchestra brings to life the struggles, triumphs, and laughs depicted in the film. Cheer the hero, boo the bad guy, and "ooh-aah" the special effects that were cutting-edge for the time period. Enjoy poignant melodies, galloping rhythms, and comic sound effects that will make you think that the term "silent film" is a misnomer.
Performances will occur in Lekberg Hall in the Amy Robertson Music Building, Simpson College on Friday, March 3rd, at 7:00 pm, and again at 8:30 pm. If you are a night owl, there are many tickets left for the 8:30 pm show. There are still tickets available for the 7:00 pm show as well. Reservations are required, admission is free, and children are welcome.
