Shame is one of the most painful burdens our parts can carry. It can feel “sticky,” sudden, and overwhelming - flooding our systems with the sense that something is deeply wrong with us. Many parts feel shame simply because shame exists in the system. And because shame is created in moments of relational rupture, it often goes underground, hidden away by protectors who fear what might happen if anyone ever saw those vulnerable places inside.
In our work with clients and in our own internal systems, shame can show up unexpectedly, bringing feelings of wanting to disappear, collapse, or hide. It can immobilize us while simultaneously creating agitation or the urge to respond. Even after years of healing, shame can remain lodged in the heart, mind, and body.
This workshop offers a relationally held space to gently turn toward shame with curiosity, compassion, and spaciousness. As we do our own inner work, we open more capacity to accompany clients whose systems are saturated with shame.
In this 3-hour workshop, Stephanie will guide you through a compassionate, structured process of understanding and working with the parts who carry shame.
