Trinity Presents: Yosef and the Counseling Angel
On December 17, Trinity Presents is bringing to life Yosef and the Counseling Angel, an oratorio for soloists, choir, and orchestra, by San Francisco-based artists Cole Thomason-Redus (composer) and Alan Olejniczak (librettist). This world premiere performance brings a different spin to old traditions. The oratorio takes on the nativity of Jesus but looks at it from the perspective of Joseph--focusing on the young man who gave up everything for the love of a woman and her child. This story of love and faith takes us through the challenges of older traditions, the creation of a new family, and the birth of a father's love.
There is only one opportunity to catch this world premiere on December 17 at 2pm. The performance will be in Trinity United Methodist Church, a beautiful historic church in Downtown Denver, containing the similarly significant Roosevelt opus no. 380 organ, which will be prominently featured in the orchestration of the oratorio.
