Advent Organ Recital Series
Trinity United Methodist Church is presenting its annual Advent Organ Recitals! The church is located at 1820 Broadway in Downtown Denver. The series features the 1888 Roosevelt pipe organ of 82 ranks in the ambience of the historic Gothic sanctuary of Denver’s oldest church.
This year’s series will feature three organists from the Front Range Urban Corridor. All recitals are on Tuesdays from 12:15 until 12:45 PM. Admission is free with the opportunity for freewill contributions.
December 5--Linda Mack, Colorado District Convener, American Guild of Organists (AGO); Sub-Dean, Denver Rocky Mountain Chapter of AGO; freelance organist. Works by Bach, Dupré, Lau, Uehlein, and Hancock.
December 12--Norman Sutphin, Staff Organist, Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver. Works by McCreary, Bach, Chapman, and Dupré.
December 19--Dr. Joel Bacon, Stewart and Sheron Golden Chair of Organ and Liturgical Studies, Fr. Don Willette Chair of Catholic Studies, Colorado State University, Fort Collins. Organist and Artist-in-Residence, First United Methodist Church, Fort Collins. Works by Back, Yon, and Dupré.
