When it comes to crochet, the granny square is probably the most recognizable pattern. It is also the most versatile. It can be used as the base for items such as blankets, sweaters, bags and much more. Learn the basic crochet techniques needed to make your own granny square, and start creating crochet pieces that will last for years to come.
This workshop will be instruced by Krista Cook, whose work can be purchsed in the History Colorado Center Gift Shop.
Note: This workshop is recommended for ages 12+. Participants will learn the basic crochet stitches needed to make a traditional crochet granny square. Hands on, and written, instructions will be provided. We will also provide resources for participants to find patterns and ideas on how to use their new skill to make finished products with crochet granny squares. All supplies will be provided and participants will leave the workshop with a finished granny square, remaining yarn, crochet hook, tapestry needle, and written instructions provided during the workshop.
