Camp Hale’s story of involvement in World War II is one of topography and innovation. Recently renamed the Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument, our guest historian for the day, David Little, will fill us in on all the people and stories from this fascinating, uniquely Colorado story. After exploring the story of Camp Hale (and no, you won’t have to ski), we’ll head to Leadville for lunch and a tour of the Healy House and Dexter Cabin, two properties of History Colorado located in this town, which is famous for its elevation and its once-upon-a-time wealth. With so much fun in store, it won’t be just the elevation taking away our breath! Let’s explore!
