During the early 1990s, Northeast Denver was a hotbed of gang activity following the “Summer of Violence” in 1993. Today, Northeast Denver currently hosts a thriving Black community with Black owned businesses, restaurants, and a nationally recognized research facility in the Blair-Caldwell Library.
This past January, History Colorado hosted the first conversation about gang violence in Northeast Denver. We are continuing this important conversation—this time with an intimate panel discussion with Jeff “brother Jeff” Fard, community leaders, and anti-gang advocates.
Come be a part of this ever-evolving and omnipresent conversation to discuss the actions, both being done today and in the past, to curb gang violence.
