Candace Shepard: IMPERMANENCE
My photos transferred to recycled wood and paper - found construction debris, cleared storm damaged tree slices, old work torn and reassembled. Painting, drawing, collage done over 2 years during the international moves towards authoritarianism and fascism. ecological disasters, war, misogyny, racism, classism, ageism, xenophobia - I hear the howling in the world and struggle to create images that tell stories of healing, surviving, and dreaming.
