The Colorado Scottish Festival’s Diamond Jubilee – Celebrating 60 Years Bringing the Magic of Scotland to Colorado Cheers to 60 amazing years! Mark your calendars for August 3-4, 2024, and spend a charming, family-friendly weekend just a stone’s throw from Denver – in the picturesque backdrop of the Denver Polo Club in Sedalia, Colorado. Whether you have Scottish roots or simply appreciate the rich heritage, this event provides an excellent opportunity to explore Scottish culture, traditions and history in your own backyard. Although the flavor is Scottish, you’ll find something for everyone, all cultures and every age group. The festival features athletes competing in traditional Scottish Highland Games, competitions in piping and drumming, as well as Scottish Highland dancing. While our clan tents offer tartan information and insights to your heritage, you can also discover living history re-enactments, or broaden your knowledge at a whisky tasting seminar. In addition, festival-goers can enjoy Scottish and Irish folk music, Irish stepdancing performances, children’s activities, Celtic merchandise, beer and food vendors, and an array of dogs and cars of the British Isles. There are a host of diversions, and large tents filled with ample tables and chairs to provide attendees with a shady retreat to eat, or to simply sit, relax and recharge. Presented by the St. Andrew Society of Colorado, the Colorado Scottish Festival began 60 years ago in Golden, Colorado. It has moved all over this great state and is excited to return to the Denver Polo Club. Just 30 minutes from downtown Denver, the location feels like a destination getaway. As soon as you turn off the main highway, you immediately realize you escaped the urban bustle and congestion. Then the quaint atmosphere begins to make a pleasant impression as you drive over the railroad tracks and wind your way through the gently rolling hills of the countryside on your way to the club’s beautiful grounds, where ample parking awaits. Once you arrive on the festival field, you’re instantly struck by how wide open the location is and the lushness of the green, manicured lawn. The layout of the field is well-organized with wide lanes between the tented sections, adding to the openness of the setting. Don’t let the description of rolling hills mislead you, the field itself is remarkably flat, with plenty of room for visitors to easily navigate all the activities. For the best experience, join the festival’s Thistle Club and get an exclusive VIP Package to enjoy the entire weekend. The Thistle Club provides a friendly atmosphere featuring Scottish music in the background, complimentary Scottish food and adult beverages, including single malt whisky. Members are treated to a special welcome reception on Saturday morning, a delightful Ice Cream Social, and private access to a late afternoon reception featuring a performance by our own Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers. In addition, members will receive preferred VIP parking, a commemorative gift, a Tartan Badge, a seat at the whisky tasting seminar, and a great place to relax during the festival. Greasaibh oirbh! And dinnae forget to haste ye back on Sunday morning for the Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan and Blessing of the Dogs. Afterwards, car enthusiasts can get revved up at our British Car Show on Sunday, as well.
